Roger Milburn is a Director of Ove Arup & Partners Ltd and he is responsible for the planning, design and implementation of a wide range of urban projects around the world. He started his career with Arup in 1978 in London but has been based in the Northwest for the last 25 years, where he is responsible for 250 staff based in Liverpool and Manchester

Roger is responsible for Arup's Global Civil Engineering Practice and Site Development and Regeneration business and he is a member of the Arup Global Infrastructure Sector Board. He has a particular interest in masterplanning, infrastructure and sustainability issues both in the Northwest and internationally. Projects under his control include masterplanning, urban regeneration, 3D City Modelling, LRT, bridges, canals and waterways, buildings, geotechnical, environmental and access studies, and site appraisal studies for new developments. Roger is also responsible for the Arup Global Infrastructure Sustainability Strategy

His career has taken him to Singapore, UAE, Libya, Burma, Indonesia, China, Poland, Japan, Grand Cayman and Russia

He is a member of The University of Manchester General Assembly, visiting Professor to The University of Manchester - School of Mechanical Aeronautical and Civil Engineering. He is the joint Chairman of the Sustainable Innovation Partnership for Manchester Knowledge Capital and also the SURF Advisory Board. He is also an AGMA Commissioner for the Environment Commission
